What a delight to read a book that takes place in a time before cell phones and computers: a simpler time!! Set in the 50's at a Catskill resort, Deadly Summer Nights perfectly highlights the time and feel of resort life, showing beautifully why it was such a popular destination during the summer. All the activities, the food, the cocktails, nature, cooling breezes. It would be idyllic, if you ignore the body floating in the lake! Elizabeth (not Liz and certainly NEVER Lizzie) runs the resort that her mother inherited, and now has to deal with a body, the red scare and unscrupulous owners of other resorts...and a fun time was had by all!
