Kernel of Truth By: Kristi Abbott

I Love Popcorn, so it was easy to get involved with story.  A few plot holes that could have been tightened up, didn't diminish from this fast past, fun and charming tale of Rebecca, her popcorn treats, her standard Poodle, her ex-husband, oh yeah... and her dead mentor.

Becoming By: Michelle Obama

Reading this memoir felt like I was just sitting and chatting with it's author (which I'd love to do!).  Insightful, doesn't gloss over uncomfortable topics...a simple look at her life.  Charming, moving and hopeful.  An absolutely amazing First Lady, person and book!

Dragon Song By: D.E. Morris

In the best of this series (so far), Ashlynn comes into her own, while everything in her life falls apart.  Time and time again, she proves herself to be one of the greatest heroes I've encountered in literature.  This third installment in the Age of Valor series, picks up right where the second left off and the action is non-stop.  We get to learn more about each of the characters in this saga as well as more on the lore of the dragons, and  the Elementals.  While some questions are answered, more are posed, setting up for what I can only assume, will be a thrilling fourth installment!

Judgment By: Joseph Finder

Have you ever seen a dog with it's favorite chew toy grab hold of it and just rash it about?  That's what it's like to read a Joseph Finder thriller.  He wastes no time in getting the action started, like the dog grabbing it's toy, and the reader is thrashed around until we're finally let go on the last page.  Judgment is just such an experience. A thrill ride that doesn't let go until the very last page.  What a ride!

Death Comes As The End By: Agatha Christie

The gaslighting to end all gaslighting, set in ancient Egypt. This is a perfect example of Dame Christie's superlative writing and plotting skills!

Towards Zero By: Agatha Christie

It's been a while since I tucked in to an Agatha Christie novel, so I was excited to get back to it!  This was okay-not horrible, but not fabulous.  Just a middle of the road mystery-but it's Agatha Christie so middle of the road for her is still pretty damn good!

Dreyer's English: An Utterly Correct Guide to Clarity and Style By: Benjamin Dreyer

Who knew that a book on how to improve your writing could be so enjoyable and witty?  A must read for anyone wanting to improve their writing, brush up on their grammar, or just have a good chuckle.  The end notes are a must read throughout.  A fantastic read.

Winter Garden By: Kristin Hannah

Unfortunately, I wasn't wowed by this one.  I found the beginning needlessly long, the story line was predictable and the ending (although deserved) to pat, and over all it was very depressing.

Defending Jacob By: William Landay

WOW!  The ending of this books .... just WOW!!  Intricately plotted, innovative structure in the storytelling, m keeps you on the edge of your seat, and will leave you thinking long after the final twist.  Quite simply, and extraordinary read!

Better Off Read By: Nora Page

A persnickety Librarian; a shady Mayor; an obnoxious Police Chief; an Antiquarian Bookseller; an attitudy cat; and a converted bus all conspire in a steamy Georgia atmosphere to present a twist filled literary ride to murder!  Great fun!
