Theater Kid: A Broadway Memoir By Jeffrey Seller

While this is Mr. Seller's memoir about his life, it also manages to be my life, and the life of every person who has ever been touched by the theatre.  A fascinating look at producing and how to listen. I feel seen!!

King of Ashes By: S. A. Cosby

Woah! A family saga that is ultra-violent and yet full of love (albeit sometimes twisted) and soul.  This is Shakespearean in it's scope and tragedy level.  I can't even express how brilliant this book is.  S.A. Cosby just keeps plumbing the depths of the human condition and comes up with gems!

The Maze By: Nelson DeMille

I am shocked to say that I wasn't thrilled with this one. I normally love DeMille's work, but this one, for me fell far short of his usual high calibre work.  The first 200 pages where filled with repetitive information that the reader already is aware of, and it was blatantly obvious what was happening, so there wasn't anywhere for the story to go.  I only stuck through it because I was hoping for a major twist that would have made the reading worth it...but alas...no such luck.  Totally predictable, repetitive and lacked any sense of urgency or surprise.

A Murder in Hollywood: The Untold Story of Tinseltown's Most Shocking Crime By: Casey Sherman

If you are a fan of true crime, you can't go wrong reading Casey Sherman's work. His research is impeccable, his writing is concise, and he manages to write in such a way as to make it seem like a novel.  His level of detail is unreal!  I've read a lot about the Lana Turner/Cheryl Crane case and this is by far the best one out there!

We Burned So Bright By: TJ Klune

Heart wrenching, yet achingly beautiful!  A sweet story of love and family set during the end of the world. A lot of emotion is packed into this little book. It's horrifying and lovely all at the same time.  Quite an amazing read!

Giant By: Mark Rosenblatt

A tough play to read (and I imagine an even tougher play to sit through)! Superbly written, deeply ugly and sadly very timely.
