A deeply upsetting look at the pressures (from all quarters) on women to be thin. At times infuriating, at times upsetting, and at times hopeful and uplifting. Meyers has a particular knack of getting her readers immediately into her characters, warts and all, and immediately into the action of her stories. The reader can't help but empathize, and reflect n ourselves, as indeed a great number of her characters are mirrors of ourselves. Meyers is adept at writing the "every person" novel, no matter the setting or circumstance.
