This should be a must read for any theatre student! An enlightening, disturbing, upsetting and unflinching look at the creation and mounting of the musical Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, from one of the co-book writers. Immensely readable, Mr. Berger takes the reader on his 6 year journey of helping to create this musical, that was oft in the news-and not for good reasons. As a theatre practitioner and fan, I found parts of this very disturbing and kept asking myself why didn't they do x, y or z, at any given moment. There has always been a fine line between the art of theatre and the business of theatre and never has it been more exposed than in this fantastic book!
