If you haven't read Will Dean's work-you must! Where else are you going to find a deaf, bi-sexual reporter in upper Sweden, but in a Will Dean novel. Red Snow picks up shortly after Dark Pines (although this one stands on it's own you really should read Dark Pines first), and finds Tuva prepping to leave for a new job. Of course her last 10 days in town are rife with bodies, mysteries, hurt and heart, all centered around the town's largest employer, the Licorice (US spelling) factory. In Dean's hands the wide open expanses of upper Sweden become extremely claustrophobic during a February winter.
