Another 6 compelling mysteries for Canon Chambers to solve-not all involving bodies. From the roof of a college building to the construction of the Berlin Wall-Sidney truly sees it all in this second book of this series. Sidney is still as befuddled by his own life as he is invested in the goings on in Grantchester and the dirty deeds being practiced by his parishioners. A delightful read!

Telling Tales By: Ann Cleeves
Much, MUCH better than the first book in this series. Interesting characters, interesting and twisted storyline and Vera was actually in the majority of the book!

Less Than A Moment By: Steven F. Havill
Holy Cow this was absolutely brilliant! I'd never heard of this author or this series. I got the book from my hubby and neither of us realized it was the 24th book in the series, and yet I had no toruble getting to know theses characters or finding my way through the setting, or being brought up to date on everything that came before. THAT is brilliant writing and storytelling! A procedural that takes it's time, without dragging, Less Than a Moment is a layered, richly detailed story. Just Fantastic!

Supper Club By: Lara Williams
I'm not sure what to make of this. Based on the blurb on the dust jacket I thought it was going to be different than it was. I liked it, and found it fascinating, but I didn't feel it was as focused as it could or should have been.

7th in an Established Series
I can't wait for this one to be published. Fans of this series are going to LOVE it!! The mysteries in this span several decades and may or may not be inter-related. Superbly plotted and a delight to read!

Draft of a New Mystery
I love that my friends trust me with their book babies. This one is a new draft of a new stand alone from an established cozy author. The author is branching out with this one. It's more of a traditional mystery, bordering on a thriller. I hope she gets a publisher interested, because it's a good one, and could easily turn into a series!!!

Selling Nostalgia By: Mathew Klickstein
I wasn't sure what I was getting into when this one was given to me, but what a fun ride!!! A keen satire-ish look at the current reboot culture and our collective sense of nostalgia, this is sharp, intelligence, utterly hysterical, and surprisingly deeply humane and human.

The Mystery of the Desert Giant By: Franklin W. Dixon
This one would have been better had Chet not met a person who was so instrumental in helping the Hardy boys at the end of the story, and yet there was no explanation as to who this guy was, how Chet met him, or why Chet would have given him information about the case.

Mystery at Devil's Paw By: Franklin W. Dixon
Despite that fact that after 38 books, neither Frank nor Joe has aged beyond 18 and 17; the mysteries themselves have changed with the time period in which the books were written. Devil's Paw is set in Alaska and takes on the tensions between the US and Russia, ever so subtly. Lots of wonderful Native American history in this one!

The Ghost at Skeleton Rock By: Franklin W. Dixon
High flying adventure in the 37th installment of this series...literally! Both Joe and Frank use their flying lessons in this caper that takes them to Puerto Rico, with Chet and Tony. This whole adventure begins with Chet wanting a ventriloquist dummy, and they somehow end up in Puerto Rico saving the Caribbean political structure!
The Secret of Pirate's Hill By: Franklin W. Dixon
I liked the history of artillery in this one, as well as Aunt Gertrude's gumption! It dawned on my while reading this that Mrs. Hardy is a bit of a ditz. I mean she's married to a world famous private investigator, and her sons are both accomplished detectives in their own right, and none of that has rubbed off on her. She has apparently managed to escape absorbing any knowledge or forethought that her husband or sons exhibit. Book after book, she pu,ll soe bone head move that just shouldn't happen!

The Clue in the Embers By: Franklin W. Dixon
This one was surprisingly less racist than previous books in this series! This mystery takes the boys to Guatemala as part of their helping a friend deal with his recent inheritance.

The Hooded Hawk Mystery By: Franklin W. Dixon
Lots of twists and turns plus a little history in falconry. One of the better mysteries in this fun series!

The Yellow Feather Mystery By: Franklin W. Dixon
These books seem to be getting more and more complicated with their plotting and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Who or what is the Yellow Feather? Where is the will? Who really inherits the school? Frank and Joe Hardy, with the help of Chet and a student or two have to answer these questions and more if they hope to live!!

The Secret of Wildcat Swamp By: Franklin W. Dixon
Frank and Joe head west in this adventure and team up with their science teacher on what they think is an archeological expedition. As per usual with the Hardy Boys, nothing ends up as they think it will! Train robbers, mysterious skeletons and and a constantly interrupted dig site, can't stop Frank and Joe!

The Secret of Zoone By: Lee Edward Fodi
Having read the second book in this series first, I was dying to find out how this fascinating world was set up and how Ozzie's adventures began. The Secret of Zoone is a fun adventure story with a lot of heart as well as action and magic. Such ingenious plotting and storytelling has made this a favorite of mine!
