All Creatures Great and Small By: James Herriot
James Herriot's got to be the easiest going person on the planet! His aplomb, sincerity, charm and love of all creatures (great and small be they 4 or 2 legged), shines through in this delightfully moving and joyful book. I can't believe I haven't read it until now-and am extremely thankful that I have his other 4 memoirs on hand to tuck into!

Mousse and Murder By: Elizabeth Logan
Anyone who knows me knows I adore diners, so this delightful mystery was right up my alley! Charming characters, amidst glorious settings and the unending mentioning of the diner food all thrown together with a twisty mystery to solve. Plenty of sly humor dots the landscape, as the mystery is wrapped up (I did figure it out toward the end of the book). This will be a fun series!

Here Comes the Body By: Maria DiRico
I can't tell you how fun this cozy is! The first book in this new series is a funny, charming romp through the borough of Queens with a delightful cast of characters. Family is very important to Mia and her family by birth and extended family of co-workers and friends are on full display in all their eccentric glory, as Mia works hard to clear her father's name and save the new family business!

Master Pieces: The Art History of Jigsaw Puzzles By: Chris McCann
A fun book for puzzle hobbyists and enthusiasts alike. Beautiful photos of the art on jigsaw puzzles covering decades from the Puzzle Panic of the 30s through the late 60s, accompany a brief history of the jigsaw puzzle and the types of art used on them. I found the biographys ection absolutely fascinating, if only because I knew of most of those artists exclusively from jigsaw puzzles and had no idea of their artistic careers!

Line of Vision By: David Ellis
Oh, Boy! This one did not go where I thought it was going! A tense first person narrative of a crime, trial prep, and the trial, with plenty and I do mean plenty of twists along the way. Ellis drags you in and doesn't let go until the very last moment. With a satisfying tie up to every loose end, this one is a stunner of a read!

The Comfort of Lies By: Randy Susan Meyers
I have to admit, this one made me uncomfortable. I had a difficult time finding an "in" with any of the characters. Despite that, it was still incredibly gripping, infuriating and finally a tinge of hopefulness. Families, parents and children, husbands and wives...are the lies we tell ourselves or others of comfort to us or to others? And at what price. Another stunner form Randy Susan Meyers!

The Murderer's Daughters By: Randy Susan Meyers
I came to the RSM game late-my first introduction to her literary world was Accidents of Marriage. I then read The Widow of Wall Street, then Waisted and now I'm starting at the beginning...and what a beginning! The Murderer's Daughters is stunning! A deeply disturbing, upsetting and infuriating tale, but ultimately ending with a glimmer of hope. This will haunt you, and put you in Lulu or Merry's shoes wholly or alternately. I adore any book that lingers on the palette and makes on think long after the book is closed!

Guilty by Reason of Insanity: A Psychiatrist Probes the Minds of Killers By: Dorothy Otnow Lewis, M.D.
It's a little weird to say I "enjoyed" a book about the psychological /neurological reasons for violence, but Dr. Lewis knows how to write a book! With plenty of research and fascinating insight, Dr. Lewis manages to take the reader on a journey through her professional life with the ease of the most skilled novelist. While filled with all the gruesome details of the horrific abuse that her patients have suffered she manages to present it in such a way that it never feels salacious. Her wry sense of humor, and her insatiable curiosity are on full display. A fascinating, and yes, enjoyable read.
